The plan
Priorities for Assembly District 50
Five things I'll work on from the first day in Carson City. Plain goals you can hold me to.
Keep Henderson affordable
Groceries, gas, rent and the power bill all cost more than they used to. Government should stop adding to the bill.
Families here are doing the math every week, and too often it doesn't work. Carson City can't fix every price, but it can stop making things worse: fewer new fees, faster permits, and a budget that grows slower than your paycheck instead of faster.
I run a small business. I know what it is to make payroll and to decide what can wait. The state should be held to the same standard.
What I'll push for
- No new taxes on families or small businesses
- Cut the permitting delays that push up the price of every new home
- Make every rate increase and new fee explain itself in public
- A state budget that grows no faster than family incomes
Safe streets, backed police
Every neighborhood deserves officers who show up fast and a justice system that takes repeat offenders seriously.
Henderson is a place people move to so their kids can ride bikes to a friend's house. Keeping it that way takes police who are fully staffed and supported, and laws that treat dealing poison and repeat theft as the serious crimes they are.
Public safety also means the roads. Street racing and reckless driving put every family at risk, and enforcement should match that.
What I'll push for
- Fully fund police so response times stay short
- Tougher penalties for dealing fentanyl
- Real consequences for repeat retail and car theft
- Serious enforcement against street racing and reckless driving
Schools that answer to parents
Parents should be able to see what their kids are learning and have real choices when a school isn't working.
Most teachers I know are doing heroic work with too little support. Parents want the same thing they do: kids who can read, write and do math, in classrooms where they can learn.
That starts with honest reporting to parents, budgets and curriculum posted where anyone can find them, and options for the families who need them.
What I'll push for
- Reading and math first, with plain-English progress reports
- Curriculum and school budgets posted online for every parent
- School choice, including charters and opportunity scholarships
- Discipline policies that back up teachers in the classroom
Water for the next generation
Southern Nevada lives on Colorado River water. Protecting it isn't a talking point. It's the job.
Every new home, business and school in Henderson depends on the same river. The decisions made in the next few years will decide what our kids inherit.
I'll fight for Nevada's share in every negotiation, keep conservation practical for homeowners, and push the state to invest in reuse and pipes before a crisis forces it.
What I'll push for
- Defend Nevada's share in every river negotiation
- Conservation that rewards homeowners instead of punishing them
- Plan growth around the water we actually have
- Invest in reuse and aging pipes before they fail
Growth that pays its own way
Henderson keeps growing. New neighborhoods should arrive with roads, schools and water lined up first, not years later.
Growth can be good for Henderson: jobs, new businesses, places for our kids to buy a first home. But it has to come with the roads, schools and water to support it, planned before the rooftops go up.
The people who already live here shouldn't pay for growth with hour-long commutes and overcrowded classrooms.
What I'll push for
- Roads, schools and water planned before new rooftops
- Protect established neighborhoods from traffic and overcrowding
- Public land sales tied to clear, published plans
- Keep local decisions in local hands
